Peet Poillon Named America East Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

Cambridge, Mass.—UMBC senior midfielder Peet Poillon (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley/Ohio State) was named America East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for games ending Feb. 22, 2009.

 

The first-year Retriever posted career highs in goals (four), assists (three) and points (seven) in UMBC’s 17-10 win over Rutgers on Feb. 21. Through two games, he has amassed a team-high 10 points after scoring a goal and adding two assists in the 14-9 win at Delaware on Feb. 14.

 

Poillon was credited with the game-winning goal against the Scarlet Knights, as he scored the Retrievers’ 11th  of the game, a man-up goal in the third quarter.

 

UMBC climbed to No. 7 in the USILA rankings and will host 17th-ranked Colgate on Saturday.
