Former UMBC Attackman Brendan Mundorf Named to Second Consectuive Major Lacrosse League All-Star Team

–Former UMBC Retriever attackman Brendan Mundorf has been selected to compete in the seventh annual Major League Lacrosse All-Star game. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 8:00 PM MT at
Mundorf, of the hometown Denver Outlaws, has been selected to play on the Western Conference squad. This year marks Mundorf’s second consecutive trip to the All-Star Game after entering the league midway through the 2006 campaign. The Outlaws lead the Western Conference with a 6-2 record.
Mundorf’s 30 points (21 G, 9A) currently place him second in scoring on the Outlaws and he is currently tied for fifth in the league in scoring. Last year, during his sophomore campaign, Mundorf led the Outlaws with 47 points (36G, 11 A) and finished sixth on the league’s top scoring list. The Ellicott City,
Drew Westervelt (Outlaws), Terry Kimener (Chicago Machine) and Josh Porcell (Boston Cannons) are other former Retrievers competing in the MLL. Former UMBC assistant coach Jarred Testa (2001-04) is the head coach of the Washington Bayhawks.
Mundorf was a two-time All American at UMBC (2005, 2006) and the America East Conference Player of the Year in both seasons. He stands in sixth position on the UMBC all-time scoring list with 185 points (112G, 73A).
