Maxx Davis Named America East Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

3/17/2008

Cambridge, Mass.—UMBC sophomore midfielder Maxx Davis (Baltimore, Md./Friends) was named America East Conference men’s lacrosse player of the week for games ending March 16, 2008.

Davis scored the game-winning goal with 1.5 seconds remaining in the third overtime period as UMBC (3-3) knocked off sixth-ranked Maryland, 9-8 before 2,113 fans at UMBC Stadium on Friday. He also added a pair of assists and produced his first career three-point effort.

Davis, who competed in just one game in his freshman campaign, now has six goals and eight points in six games in 2008.

The Retrievers, winners of three of the last four, take on Ohio State in Columbus on Saturday, March 22.
