4/9/2007

UMBC attackman Cayle Ratcliffe has been named America East Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for games ending April 8, 2007. It is Ratcliffe’s second-such honor of the season as he was also selected on March 12.

He produced his sixth and seventh multi-goal games of the season with a hat-trick plus two assists in the 11-9 victory over Towson and scored two first half goals in the 15-8 win at Hartford. Against the 12-th ranked Tigers, he scored twice in the fourth quarter, including a goal with three minutes left which gave UMBC an 11-8 lead. Ratcliffe leads the team with 22 goals and has a team-high shooting percentage of 55 percent.  He is ranked third in the America East Conference in goals per game (2.2) and fourth in points per outing (2.8).
