BOBBY BENSON RESIGNS AS ASSISTANT MEN'S LACROSSE COACH

UMBC Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Don Zimmerman has announced the resignation of Bobby Benson as assistant men’s lacrosse coach.

Benson served under Coach Zimmerman in a full-time capacity for the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons.

"On behalf of the UMBC men's lacrosse program I wish to thank Bobby Benson for his time and effort while associated with our lacrosse team and wish him continued success in his new position at Loyola College," said Coach Zimmerman.

UMBC will fill the vacant position immediately following the 2006 lacrosse season. Benson’s responsibilities will be handled "by committee" within the existing staff, which consists of Coach Zimmerman, assistant coach Kevin Warne, volunteer assistant coach Rocco Vicchio, and undergraduate assistant coach Joe Cahill.
