MUNDORF SELECTED TO REPRESENT AUSTRALIA IN 2006 WORLD LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

UMBC senior attackman Brendan Mundorf (Baltimore, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) has been selected to represent Australia in the 2006 World Lacrosse Championships, to be held in London, Ontario, Canada from July 13-22. Mundorf, whose father is Australian, was the 2005 America East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Year. One of the UMBC team captains of the 2005 and 2006 teams, Mundorf also was invited to try out for Team USA this past June.

He ended the 2005 season ranked ninth nationally in points per game (3.80 ppg) and has moved into 12^th place on UMBC’s all-time scoring list with 137 points. (84 goals, 53 assists) Mundorf is now fifth all-time amongst UMBC’s Division I scorers, and his 57-point single season was the 13th-best in school history. He was the first player to hit the 50-point plateau since Dan Marohl posted 52 points in 2000 and also earned All America status (HM) after the 2005 campaign.
