Sophomore attackman Drew Westervelt (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) was named co-America East Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending
Westervelt scored the game-winning goal one minute into the second overtime period as UMBC nipped host Loyola, 9-8, on Tuesday. He also tied for game high scoring honors with 3 goals and 2 assists in the 10-9 loss at Stony Brook on Saturday evening. Westervelt is the lone Retrievers to score in all 13 games to date and has a scoring streak of 23 in a row. He is second on the team with 42 points on 21 goals and 21 assits and leads the team with 7 extra-man goals.
