MUNDORF NAMED AMERICA EAST MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

3/14/2005

Junior attackman Brendan Mundorf (Baltimore, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) has been named America East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played March 7-March 13, 2005.

Mundorf is off to a blazing start, with 14 goals and 8 assists in UMBC’s first four games and leads the conference in both goals and points (22). This week, he netted three goals and added an assist in UMBC’s 9-6 setback at #1 Johns Hopkins and then posted a season high 5 goals and 8 points in the 13-6 win over Canisius on Saturday. His 14 goals have come on 23 shots, a shooting percentage of 60.9%. The 2004 First Team All America East attackman has at least three goals in all four games to date, and has a goal-scoring streak alive at 19 consecutive games.

Mundorf has become the 22nd player in school history to reach the 100-point plateau (69 goals, 34 assists). He is the tenth UMBC Division I player to accomplish the feat and the first since Jeff Ratcliffe reached the plateau in 2000. Mundorf recorded his 100th point in his 31st game, the third fastest in UMBC’s Division I history, behind only Chris Turner (24 games) and Dan Marohl (28 games).
