Accolades: Named to the 2011 and 2012 Winter-Spring America East Conference Honor Roll.
2012: A model of consistency, as he tallied at least a point in all 12 games he competed in…Did not play in the opener due to injury… Excelled down the stretch, scoring 18 points in the last seven games… Posted back-to-back hat tricks and four-point games at Towson on April 4 and at Vermont on April 7… Scored two man-up goals in America East semifinals and placed second on the squad with five extra-man scores on the year.
2011: Finished fourth on the team with 11 goals… Led the squad with 63 shots and did put nearly 62 percent on goal… Started eight of the 11 games he dressed for on the campaign… Opened the season by posting career bests in goals (3) and points (4) in the win at Presbyterian on Feb. 19… Attempted team season-high 13 shots and put 11 on goal in that game… Posted points in the first four games of the season, including a pair of goals at North Carolina on March 5… Scored two goals, including the go-ahead, game-winning, man-up goal with 6:23 remaining in the 9-7 win over Quinnipiac… Missed contests vs. Towson and Binghamton due to injury and tallied three points in UMBC’s final four games.
2010
: Was coming on as UMBC entered league play, but his initial campaign was derailed by a broken thumb after the April 10 contest at Binghamton… Recorded his first collegiate point, a man-up score late in the third quarter vs. Stony Brook on April 3… Produced his first multiple-point game as a collegian with a goal and an assist the following week vs. the Bearcats… Competed in six total contests.
Background: Majoring in visual arts, with a concentration in film/video... Scored 20 goals and added 16 assists for the fifth-ranked (Inside Lacrosse) Saints in 2009… His best game was a four-goal, five-point effort against St. Paul’s… His older brother, Alex, graduated from UMBC in 2009 and earned All-America honors as a senior midfielder... A member of the 2008 Maryalnd Freestate team… Selected UMBC because "I know a lot about the team and school from my brother Alex and was happy with what is expected of each individual as a student-athlete"… Also lettered in ice hockey… Also has an older brother, Craig, who is 27… Plays guitar in the family band alongside his brother, Alex, and his father… Son of Chris and Christine Hopmann… Born July 15, 1991.
