2012: Saw action in all 13 games, starting three and was a part of UMBC’s second midfield… Played a big role in UMBC’s 8-7 win over No. 4 Maryland, posting a career-best 3-point (1-2-3) effort… Assisted on the fourth goal, scored the fifth, and helped on Scott Jones’ go-ahead seventh goal as UMBC rallied from a 6-3 fourth quarter deficit… Scored goals in three consecutive games vs. Towson, Vermont and Stony Brook.
2011: Used sparingly in the first part of the season, but saw action in the last four contests… Played five total games… Broke out on April 23 vs. Vermont, scoring a pair of first quarter goals to keep UMBC within striking distance in the early going… Earned a spot on the starting midfield on April 30 at Hartford and also played against the Hawks in the league semifinal contest.
Background: Recovered from a torn ACL and became a key component on the Lakers’ MIAA finalist squad in 2010… Scored 12 goals as a senior, including the game-tying and winning goals in the MIAA semifinals vs. St. Mary’s… A Williams Scholar and honor roll student at Boys’ Latin… An accomplished drummer who enjoys the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers… Has three older brothers, Sean, 28, Cole, 26, and Ian, 24… Son of Debbie and Bill Finch.
