Accolades: Named to the 2010 Inside Lacrosse preseason All-America First-Team… Also named to Inside Lacrosse’s preseason America East All-Conference team for 2010… Will serve as one of the team’s captains this spring… Selected as a 2009 USILA All-American and an America East First-Team All-Conference midfielder.
 
2009: Opened the season by posting a career-high and UMBC season-high five goals in the win over Delaware… Tallied at least one point in all 16 games and multiple-points in 13 contests... Enters the 2010 season with a 19-game point-scoringstreak… Posted career highs in goals (24), assists (18), points (42) and ground balls (43) and is the team’s leading returning scorer for 2010… Finished sixth in the America East with 1.12 assists per game and was 10th in points per contest (2.62)… Notched four points (3g, 1a) vs. Rutgers in the home opener on Feb. 21... Recorded his second five-point game (2g, 3a) in the Feb. 28 win over Colgate… Also recorded a career-high seven ground balls vs. the Raiders… Forced into face-off duties in Game 4 vs. Johns Hopkins and won six of nine draws… Credited with game-winning goals in back-to-back victories over Binghamton (Apr. 4) and Albany (Apr. 11)… His goal-scoring streak of 16 came to an end in the America East semifinals, but he did contribute two assists in the win over Binghamton… Scored three goals in the NCAA Tournament game at North Carolina. 

 

2008: Scored multiple points in 12 games… Keyed UMBC’s win over Denver with two goals and two assists… Also tallied a pair of goals in games vs., Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Ohio State and Binghamton in the America East semifinals… Was UMBC’s leading scorer in the America East Tournament with seven points and produced his first hat trick of the season in the title game vs. Albany… Capped the campaign with a two-goal, one-assist effort in the NCAA Tournament game at Virginia.

 

2007: Produced a solid freshman campaign, scoring 10 goals and adding 10 assists… Competed on UMBC’s top midfield and started the opener vs. Brown… Scored a pair of goals against the Bears… Earned America East Player of the Week honors by virtue of a season-high five-point (1g, 4a) performance vs. Air Force and a pair of helpers at Denver the following day… Contributed a pair of assists in the March 17 setback at Maryland… Scored twice in the conference opener at Albany… Tallied a season-high three goals at Hartford on April 7… Recorded a pair of goals in the America East title game at Albany, giving him four scores vs. the Great Danes in ’07.

Background: Majoring in business technology administration... Highly skilled and dedicated midfielder earned Player of the Year and Most Valuable Midfielder honors for the Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association as a senior… Posted career bests in goals (53), points (75) and face-off percentage (65%) in 2006… Helped the Black Knights to an appearance in the Pennsylvania state finals in 2005… Tallied six goals and added two assists in a playoff win over Lancaster Country Day School… Also earned letters in football (wide receiver/linebacker) and basketball at Hempfield… Was a point guard in basketball and finished third in the Lancaster/Lebo league in free throw percentage… Did not play lacrosse until the age of 12… Has older sisters Stephanie (27) and Brittany (25)… Son of Jill and Ronald Wimer… Born Feb. 19, 1988.
