Accolades: Named to the America East All-Conference Second-Team in 2008 after earning All-Rookie team honors in 2007… Tabbed the Most Outstanding Player of the 2009 America East Conference Tournament… Selected as a team captain for the 2010 campaign.

 

2009: The unheralded long-stick defensive midfielder finished second on the team with 54 ground balls and set a new school record with 32 caused turnovers… Leads UMBC’s current roster with 109 career ground balls… Recorded multiple caused turnovers in 12 of 16 games, including season highs of four apiece vs. Rutgers, Maryland and Vermont… Recorded assists during the regular season vs. Colgate and Vermont… Saved his best work for the America East Tournament, where he posted a season high with six ground balls in each game and scored a goal in each contest.

 

2008: The Retrievers’ top long-stick defensive midfielder and emerging as one of the top players at his position in the nation… Tied for the team lead with 11 caused turnovers and collected 31 ground balls… Scored his lone goal of the season in a 6-0 UMBC run in the Retrievers’ 14-10 win over Albany on April 12.

 

2007: Came on strong down the stretch as he replaced an injured Dan Carmack at the long-stick midfield position… Played extensively on the man-down and face-off units… Finished second on the team with eight caused turnovers and fourth with 34 ground balls… The well-conditioned athlete chipped in with two goals and two assists… Scored both goals in an April 7 win at Hartford… Added assists in back-to-back games vs. Stony Brook and Binghamton (league semifinals).

 

Background: Majoring in history... A First-Team Suburban Council All-Star in his junior and senior seasons… A member of the 2004 and 2005 Adirondack Empire State lacrosse team and a 2006 U.S. Lacrosse All-American… Earned four letters for the Dutchmen and was a two-year captain….
