AT UMBC: Played in seven games last season, and earned his first collegiate start vs. 7th-ranked North Carolina...performed admirably in that game, making 13 saves in a 15-11 loss as the Tar Heels had a large advantage in time of possession...after a tough initial appearance vs. Cornell (0 saves, 6 goals allowed), he made 32 saves and allowed 28 goals in his final six outings...made 6 saves and did not allow a goal in relief of Tim Flanagan vs. U. Mass...also started for UMBC in a loss to Towson.
BACKGROUND: Signed in the early fall period with the Retrievers in 2000…led Northport HS to an improbable run to the New York State Class A title…held Mahopac scoreless in the fourth quarter (five saves) as Northport rallied for a 7-6 semi-final victory…made 16 second half saves (21 overall) as Northport took the county title over Sachem…earned a spot on Newsday’s inaugural All Long Island Boys Lacrosse Team…had a .630 save percentage as the Tigers held opponents to 5.6 goals per game last year…also earned All League, All County and All America honors…a member of the New York Empire State team in the summer of 2000…decided on UMBC because of its academic reputation…enjoys playing the guitar and swimming…a fan of the novel,
