Note: Suffered a torn ACL during the winter holiday period and will not compete in the spring… Will apply for a medical hardship waiver to complete his eligibility in the spring of 2010.

Accolades. Etc.: Named to Inside Lacrosse’s 2009 Second-Team preseason All America squad…Selected to 2008 USILA All America squad (honorable mention)… A First-Team America East All-Conference defender in 2008 after earning second team honors in 2007…Earned All-Championship team honors in the America East Tournament… Selected as a team captain for 2009, after serving in the same capacity in 2008, just one of nine student-athletes to earn multiple captaincies in school history.  

2008: Started all 16 games at close defense… Finished fourth on the squad with 39 ground balls and tied for the team lead with 11 caused turnovers.

2007:  Made the transformation from midfield (both short and long-stick as a freshman) to a starting close defenseman… Started 16 of 17 games and led the team with 12 caused turnovers… Also recorded 29 ground balls and added a pair of goals… Scored his first collegiate goal in UMBC’s 11-10 overtime win vs. Penn on March 10… Added another tally in April 7 win at Hartford.

2006: Versatile player who developed into an outstanding defensive midfielder in his first season…  Recorded eight ground balls and two caused turnovers… Saw action in 13 contests.

Background: Majoring in media and communication studies... A First-Team All (Anne Arundel) County selection in both football and lacrosse… Earned The Capital’s Player of the Week award in the spring of 2005 and was his team’s Kelly Award finalist… Lists best career game as a four-goal, two-assist effort in a 2004 contest against Annapolis… Was a part of the Bulldogs’ state finalist team as a freshman in 2002… A relative late-comer to lacrosse, who began playing the game at age 14… Lists greatest thrill in sports as “just being able to play the game"...
