2008: Scored the biggest goal of the year for the Retrievers, the go-ahead and game-winning goal late in the fourth quarter to cap a huge rally and provide UMBC with a 14-13 win in the America East title game vs. Albany… Scored five goals and added two assists on the year… Registered a multiple-point effort with a goal and a helper vs. Hartford… Also hit the nets vs. Delaware, Stony Brook, and Binghamton.  

 

Background: A two-time United States Lacrosse Association high school All-American (2006, 2007)… The 2007 North Bayside Conference Player of the Year and Kelly Award finalist… Represented the south in the National Senior Showcase and was The Star Democrat’s Player of the Year… Led the Lions to the North Bayside Conference title for three consecutive years…Scored 110 goals and added 76 assists in his prep career… Tallied the game-winning goal with less than two seconds remaining vs. county rival Kent Island and netted a game-tying score with six seconds left a month later vs. Easton… Garnered a career-high 83 ground balls in his junior season… Also excelled on the soccer field for the Lions, earned Maryland Shore Player of the Year and All State honors in ’06… Queen Anne County’s SGA president in ’07 and a member of the school’s It’s Academic team… Also a member of the National Honor Society… A fan of the Bourne series movies… Has an older sister, Brooke, and a younger brother, Brandon… Son of Tracy and Jim Kimbles… William James Kimbles III was born on Dec. 17, 1989.
