2006: Assumed the responsibility of UMBC’s top face-off specialist and won 108 of 209 (51.7%) draws… named to All Tournament team of the 2006 America East Tournament after winning a season-high 18 (of 29) draws and collecting a season-high 13 ground balls in the title game vs. Albany… led the team with 59 ground balls.

 

2005: Competed in four games for UMBC in his freshman campaign…won two of nine draws attempted…captured two of seven in his most extensive action in the circle at rainy Hartford.

 

Background: After missing nearly the entire 2004 campaign due to injury, he was able to compete against Gilman in the MIAA “A” Conference title game…recorded an assist as the Crusaders won their first league championship since 1992…a Maryland Silver Shirts All Star (2002-03) and Maryland Red Shirts All Star (2003-04)…also was a two-year starter in soccer…earned Honor Roll at St. Paul’s and was a member of the Yearbook Club…grandfather, John Ruppersberger,  was an All American in lacrosse at Maryland (1947-48)…nicknamed “Dan”, as in Dan Marino…majoring in Economics…son of Gary Marino and Timmy Ruppersberger…born March 19, 1986.
