UMBC has named Kevin Warne was named Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach, it was announced today by Head Coach Don Zimmerman.
Warne will join second-year assistant Bobby Benson on the Retriever sidelines this season.
The Setauket, New York native spent the past three seasons as an Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at the University of Delaware. Coach Warne was involved in all aspects of the Blue Hen program, including scouting, practice, and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes. Prior to his tenure in Newark, he served as Interim Head Coach at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York for the 2000-2001 academic year.
Warne was a four-year letterwinner as a defender at Hofstra University from 1995-1999. He earned USILA All America honors as a senior in 1999, achieved First Team All America East status in 1998 and 1999 and played in three NCAA Division I Tournaments (1996, 1997, 1999) for the Pride.
