Sociology Major
2004: Worked his way into the starting lineup as a crease attackman by Game #6 of the season...in that game, his first collegiate start, he scored the game-winning goal with 3:22 remaining to give UMBC a 10-9 win over Albany...posted his career first multiple goal game with a pair of goals...also scored twice at North Carolina, and tallied his first career “hat trick” at Towson...his goal gave UMBC a 6-5 fourth quarter lead in the America East semi-final contest vs. Albany.
2003: Participated in seven games as a sophomore...began to earn minutes in riding situations down the stretch, and scored his first collegiate goal off an opponent broken clear at Delaware.
2002: Matriculated at UMBC in his freshman year of 2001,but did not practice or play with the squad.
BACKGROUND: A First Team All League player in 2000 and 2001…helped the Comets to the state finals in 2000 with a three-goal effort in the sectional title game vs. the rival South Jeff. Spartans…competed in the 2000 Empire State games and the Exceptional Senior Game in 2001…also a three-time All North Team and All Star in soccer and a letterwinner in basketball at Carthage Central… selected UMBC "for its location, and academic reputation and (because) it was a good fit for me"…a fan of the Boston Celtics and the novel, The Great Gatsby…younger sisters, Sara, 20, and Michele, 15, both compete in interscholastic sports…son of Kelly and Bob Cross…born April 12, 1982.
