Displayed his versatility last season by going from crease attack to face off specialist position during the course of the season...underwent sports hernia surgery late in the fall, but should be ready for competition in the spring.

 

2004: Opened the season as UMBC’s starting crease attackman and had success early, scoring two goals in the opener at Duke and two more in UMBC’s home opener vs. Ohio State...netted perhaps UMBC’s biggest goal of the season, tallying an extra-man goal with 41 seconds remaining in the second overtime to cap a four-goal rally and give the Retrievers an 8-7 win over the Buckeyes...three of his four goals were scored on extra-man...started the first five games of the season...recorded a season high 3 ground balls vs. Delaware...saw extensive face off duties against the nation’s top players in UNC’s Kevin Frew and Towson’s Ben DeFelice

BACKGROUND: A First Team All American at Herkimer (N.Y.) Junior College…helped his team to a national title last season…can do many things on a lacrosse field-won several key face-offs in the national semi-finals in 2003 vs. Catonsville...also lettered in football and wrestling at Corning East…selected UMBC because of the "Maryland area and the lacrosse staff"…considering a major in Interdisciplinary Studies…son of Diane Stowell and John Warner…born September 4, 1982.
