Selected as one of the Retriever tri-captains this season…has played in all 37 games in his UMBC career, and earned a starting role on close defense in 10 of 13 games last season…very solid in all aspects of the game.

AT UMBC: Replaced the injured Matt P. Hall in the starting lineup in the season’s fourth week, and was a steady force for the remainder of the season…netted a career best 17 ground balls in his junior season and tied for second on the team with five caused turnovers…did not commit a single penalty, despite his increased playing load.. statistics from his first two seasons are identical...competed in 12 games as a sophomore, gathering nine ground balls and one penalty...played in all twelve games as a freshman, and was a regular member of the stingy man-down unit...also collected nine ground balls and committed a foul.

BACKGROUND: Standout defenseman from Queen Anne’s, whose Lion squad made it to the 1999 and 2000 state semi-finals...earned First Team All Bayside both seasons and was the county’s Most Valuable Player in 2000...was a finalist for the Ensign Kelly Award...recorded a pair of assists and 12 take-aways in a playoff game vs. perennial power Kent County...also lettered in soccer and led his team in scoring as a senior...an admirer of Cal Ripken, Jr., who “is an athlete that goes out everyday and gives 100% all of the time”...enjoys hunting and fishing...has a younger brother, Josh, 18...son of Kim and Jeff Clark...born March 11, 1982.
