Men's Basketlball Wraps First Half of AE at Home Wednesday Night Versus Binghamton

Binghamton at UMBC Game Notes, Jan. 28, 2015

UMBC completes the first half of America East play as they host Binghamton at the RAC Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The Bearcats holds a narrow 13-12 edge in the series. Tip-off time at the RAC Arena is set for 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Q1370 and streamed on www.umbcretrievers.tv and the live stat link will be available via www.umbcretrievers.com.  

 
RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC (3-17, 1-6 AE) could not complete the sweep of two road games in a five-day stretch as they followed up a 76-59 victory at Maine on Thursday with a 69-55 setback at league leader Albany on Sunday.  Junior post Cody Joyce scored in double figures for the eighth consecutive game with 16 points and is tops in the league in conference games at 17.1 points per contest. Freshman guard Jourdan Grant continues to lead America East in assists per game (4.1) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2). 

BEARCAT UPDATE:  Sophomore guard Marlon Beck led four players in double figures with 15 points but visiting Stony Brook held off the Bearcats 61-54 Sunday afternoon at the Events Center. Freshman post Dusan Perovic leads Binghamton (2-20, 1-6 AE) with 11.5 points per outing, and classmate wing Willie Rodriguez chips in with 10.4 points per contest. Binghamton has dropped four straight since a 65-46 victory over Maine on Jan. 10 and is looking for its first win away from the Events Center this season. 

WHO'S UP NEXT:  UMBC has its first bye weekend of the season and does not get back into action unitl Thurs., Feb. 5 when they start a trip to New England with a contest at U Mass Lowell.
