Cambridge, Mass.-- UMBC men’s basketball will have a pair of home games featured on ESPN3 as the America East Conference unveiled its basketball television package for the 2013-14 season on Tuesday.
The Retrievers will be featured on Monday, Jan. 20 when they host 2013 regular season champions Stony Brook and on Wednesday, Feb. 8 when they entertain Albany, the 2013 tournament champions. The game against the Seawolves, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, will tip at 2:00 p.m., while the contest versus Albany gets underway at 7:00 p.m.
Twenty-six of UMBC’s 29 regular season games and all post-season action will be broadcast by WQLL (AM1370/FM 99.9) and streamed live via www.q1370.com. Gary Stein and Paul Mittermeier return to call all the action of 2013-14 Retriever basketball.
Moreover, Mittermeier will host the Aki Thomas UMBC Basketball Show, which will air every Thursday from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on WQLL/www.q1370.com. The series begins on Thursday, Nov. 5.
For the seventh consecutive year, all UMBC home basketball games will be streamed live on www.umbcretrievers.tv. The new America East TV will provide free streaming service for games at the sites of all conference institutions.
On Sunday,March 2, the final day of the regular season, America
East will produce a wild card game featuring the league’s
most intriguing matchup. Possibilities for that ESPN3 broadcast
include: Albany at Stony Brook, UMBC at Hartford, New Hampshire at
Maine and Vermont at Binghamton.
