UMBC completes its three-game homestand on Sat., Feb. 9 when they welcome the Vermont Catamounts to the RAC Arena. RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC (4-6, 6-17) saw its first two-game winning streak since 2010-11 come to a halt on Wednesday after a 79-56 loss to Albany. The Retrievers misfired on 22 of its first 26 shots from the floor and were unable to recover. SR G Brian Neller, the reigning America East Player of the Week, hit four 3-point field goals and moved into fourth place on UMBC's all-time list with 232. JR F Chase Plummer leads UMBC with 13.4 ppg in league play, while SR G Ryan Cook is the overall leader at 14.9 points per outing.
CATAMOUNT UPDATE: Vermont (8-2, 15-7) has won six of its last seven games, including Wednesday's convincing 63-48 home victory vs. UNH. JR F Luke Apfeld, who did not play vs. UMBC in the first meeting, led Vermont with 16 points in 14 mintues of action. JR F Clancy Rugg, who led all scorers wtih 19 points against the Retrievers last month, leads Vermont with 11.2 points per game.
WHO'S UP NEXT: The Retrievers will head to snowy New England on Tuesday for a Wednesday evening match-up with New Hampshire (7:00 p.m.).
