Chris De La Rosa Named to America East All-Conference Second Team

West Hartford, Conn.--UMBC junior guard Chris De La Rosa (Washington Heights, N.Y./All Hallows/Siena) has been named to the America East All-Conference Second Team, it was announced today.

De La Rosa, who also earned the league's 2011 "Player of the Game" award, led the conference in assists through the regular season and was ranked 15th in the nation in the latest NCAA Statistics. He completed the campaign with 181 assists, the third-highest figure in school history.

De La Rosa scored 464 points (15.5 ppg) , the 11th-most in a single season in school history. He scored 20 or more points in a game 12 times during the 2010-11 campaign, which was three shy of Darryl Proctor's UMBC Division I record of 15 recorded in 2008-09.
