2009-10:  Averaged 4.3 points per game in 29 contests… Tied for second on the squad with 38 3-point field goals made… 38 of his 42 field goals made were from outside the arc… Nov. 15: Played 14 minutes in the season opener vs. Morgan State, scoring four points… Dec. 5: Led UMBC with 15 points at Toledo...His five 3-pt. field goals made (of 9) vs. the Rockets was the most for a Retriever last season and the most since Jay Greene hit five at Hartford on Feb. 14, 2009… Dec. 8: Followed up with 10 points and three steals in a 25-minute stint at Penn State… Dec. 22: Hit a trio of 3-pt. field goals at Virginia Tech… Jan. 16: Hit three of four from behind the arc, all in the final six minutes, in a valiant comeback attempt at Albany… Jan. 30: Scored in double figures for the first time in league play with 12 points (4-of-8 behind the arc)?in the 56-55 win at Maine… Feb. 24: Scored 11 points in 16 minutes in UMBC’s win at New Hampshire… The Retrievers were 2-0 in league play when Neller scored in double figures.

 
 
 

Background: Named to America East Academic Honor Roll for the 2010 spring semester… Earned Boys’ Player of the Year honors from the basketball coaches in the Shore Conference and from the media in The Asbury Park Press in 2008-09… Averaged 14.2 points per game for the Head Coach Geoff Billet’s Colts (26-3), who captured the Shore Conference Tournament title and the NJSIAA Non-Public South “A” sectional championship… Scored 19 points vs. national power St. Anthony’s… A Second-Team All-Monmouth County honoree in his senior campaign… Amassed 1,119 points and hit 178 three-point field goals in his three-year varsity career, including a season-best 69 in 2008-09… Selected UMBC because “the coaches at UMBC are great and I felt I would fit in well”… Has an older brother, Michael, and a younger brother, Kevin… Lists favorite professional team as the NBA’s New York Knicks… Enjoys the music of the Dave Matthews Band and going to the beach… Son of Elaine and Thomas Neller… Born Feb. 28, 1991.
