HOT-SHOOTING PRINCETON ROUTS RETRIEVERS, 76-43

    Princeton University hit 8 of 11 first half three-point goals and cruised to a 76-43 victory over UMBC (3-7) before 4,132 at Jadwin Gym in Princeton, NJ.UMBC led briefly early at 8-5, before the Tigers went on a 12-0 run to take control at 17-8 with 11:38 to play in the first half. The Tigers connected on 5 of their last 6 three-point attempts in the final 10 minutes of the half and UMBC's offense remained dormant as PU grabbed a 41-21 halftime lead. UMBC's woes continued into the second half as they only attempted 17 second half field goals, converting on just 7, as the Tigers continued to connect from everywhere. Princeton finished the game 30 of 48 (62.5%) from the floor and 12 of 23 (52.2%) from behind the arc. Junior Kareem Washington was the lone Retriever in double figures as he scored 21 points. UMBC has dropped seven straight and are now finished with the non-conference portion of the schedule. They travel to Pennsylvania this weekend to open an NEC series with Robert Morris on Saturday and St. Francis (PA) on Monday.
