RETRIEVERS WIN THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT BATTLE OF BALTIMORE CROWN

    Tournament Most Valuable Player Kareem Washington scored 17 points to lead UMBC (2-0) to its third consecutive title in the fifth annual Battle of Baltimore Basketball Tournament, held at Morgan State University. the Retrievers outlasted Loyola, 57-43.

    UMBC has now won six straight games in the BOB, as they held Loyola to an opponent school record low of 12 field goals and 21.8% shooting from the floor.

    Leading 26-19 at intermission, UMBC held Loyola to five points in the first 12 minutes of the second half and built a 44-24 lead. The Greyhounds did not close with 11 points the rest of the way.

    Andrew Feeley also made the all-tournament team, as he contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots in the title game.
