UMBC rallied and retrieved its first triumph of the season on Dec. 30, as they posted a dramatic a 68-67 victory over Niagara. Forward Jus n Fry hit two free throws with 4.4 seconds remaining to cap a comeback after UMBC trailed, 27-11, midway through the first half. Junior guard Chris De La Rosa (team-high 15.2 ppg) continued his outstanding play with 21 points and is averaging 19.3 points and 6.8 assists per game over his last five outings.SEAWOLF UPDATE:
Defending America East regular season champion Stony Brook enters today’s contest at 5-6, coming off of a 63-54 home victory over Colgate on Dec. 29. SBU is a solid 3-3 on the road this season with wins at Monmouth, FDU and Holy Cross by a combined 10 points. Junior guard Bryan Dougher is the lone Wolf in double fi gures, averaging 14.9 points per game, including 35 treys.WHO’S UP NEXT:
