Men's Basketball Returns to the RAC to Host Local Rival Towson on Saturday Night

In its 44-year varsity basketball history, the Towson Tigers are UMBC’s most frequently-contested opponent and the two squads will meet for the 52nd time
RETRIEVER UPDATE: A road-weary UMBC team dropped the final game of a five-game swing with a dismal 81-39 loss at Rider. Guard Travis King saw his season-long doubles figures scoring streak snapped at seven, but he hit 2-of-3 from behind the arc and leads America East in 3-point field goal percentage at 54.1 percent. At the beginning of the week, King was ranked 13th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage.
TIGER UPDATE: GW’s press bothered the Tigers (2-5) who committed 23 turnovers, 16 of them coming in the fi rst half off 11 GW steals, as the Colonials handed the Tigers a 73-67 loss on Wednesday. Towson is searching for its first road win (0-4) of the season. Four Tigers average in double fi gures, led by guard Isaiah Fillmore, who averages 15.1 points per game. Maryland transfer Braxton Dupree is averaging 12.6 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
WHO’S UP NEXT: UMBC returns home on Tuesday to host a resurgent American suqad at the RAC Arena. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. and the game will be televised by the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
