Men's Basketball Closes Out Regular Season at New Hampshire on Wednesday

SET THE SCENE: UMBC plays its final regular season contest on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at New Hampshire as the Retrievers try to build momentum for the America East Tournament. Tip-off time is set for 2:00 p.m.and the game will be broadcast by Fox 1370 Sports Radio (www.fox1370.com, Paul Mittermeier.
RETRIEVER UPDATE: Chauncey Gilliam was the lone Retriever in double figures, with 21 points, as UMBC dropped an 81-61 decision at Binghamton on Sunday. He also tied a UMBC Division I mark with seven steals in the game.
WILDCATS’ UPDATE: New Hampshire snapped a two-game slide with a come-from-behind 61-60 win at Loyola (Md.) on Saturday. Junior guard Alvin Abreu led the way with 16 points and has been the Wildcats’ leading scorer in the last six games, averaging 18.3 points per game in that span. UNH is 8-3 at home this season
UP NEXT: The Retrievers will compete in the America East Tournament play-in game (No. 8 v. No. 9 seed) on Thursday, March 4 in Hartford at 8:30 p.m. The Retrievers have advanced to the semifinal round in each of the past three seasons.
