Men's Basketball to Host Boston University in Sunday Matinee

UMBC will play its lone Sunday afternoon affair of the season on Sunday, Jan. 24 when they host the Boston University Terriers. Tip-off time is set for 1:05 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live by Fox 1370 Sports Radio (www.fox1370.com) with Gary Stein and Paul Mittermeier on the call. Live video streaming is available on www.umbcretrievers.tv.RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC picked up the defensive intensity, holding New Hampshire to 37 percent shooting, but the Retrievers managed to hit only 20 of 55 shots (36 percent) and fell to the Wildcats, 62-58 at home on Jan. 21. Sophomore wing Chauncey Gilliam scored 16 points to lead the Retrievers. UMBC had converted 23 of 46 shots from behind the arc in its last three games, but were just one-of-nine vs. UNH.TERRIERS’ UPDATE: Boston U. has won five of its last six games, including Tuesday’s 79-58 thrashing of Albany. The dynamic duo of senior guard Corey Lowe (16.9 ppg) and junior wing John Holland (19.3 ppg) is the top scoring tandem in America East. The Terriers have hit 158 shots from behind the arc through 18 games, while UMBC has converted 96 in 19 outings.UP NEXT: UMBC concludes its three-game homestand on Wednesday, Jan. 27 when they host Binghamton University at 7:00 p.m.
