Men's Basketball Opens Grueling Stretch at Boston University on Tuesday

UMBC has 15 games left in the regular season and they will all come against America East Conference competition. After three stirring games vs. Boston University last season, the Retrievers and Terriers renew their rivarly in Boston on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live by Fox 1370 Sports Radio (www.fox1370.com) with Paul Mittermeier on the call.
RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC (1-13 0-1 America East) has dropped four straight contests, including Wednesday’s 82-71 setback vs. Penn. Sophomore guard Chris De La Rosa scored a career-high 28 points, butr the Quakers hit a UMBC opponent high 13 (of 24) shots from behind the arc in their road victory.
TERRIERS’ UPDATE: After a conference-opening home loss to Stony Brook (84-75), the Terriers went out on the road and picked up wins at UNH (Jan. 7, 60-56) and at Hartford (Jan. 9, 84-70). The dynamic wing duo of junior John Holland (18.9 ppg) and senior Corey Lowe (16.6 ppg) lit it up vs. the Hawks, scoring 32 and 31 points respectively. The Terriers average 8.3 made 3-point field goals per game.
UP NEXT: UMBC plays its lone game in a four-game in six-day stretch on Thursday, Jan. 14, when the Retrievers host Hartford. Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m.
