Chauncey Gilliam Earns Fourth Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week Award

Gilliam has won the award for two consecutive weeks and has earned the honor a league-high four times during the campaign. He also won the award on Dec. 29 and on Feb. 2. and has surpassed Brian Hodges for the most yearly honors. Hodges captured two awards in his freshman season of 2004-05.
The
Gilliam’s current total of 294 points (10.8 points per game) is the tenth-most for a freshman in school history and the most since Peter Mulligan had a school record 450 in the 2000-01 season. He has scored in double figures in nine of his last 12 games and is fourth in the America East Conference in field goal percentage at 54.1%.
