Adkins, McKnight Leave Men's Basketball Program

11/26/2008

UMBC sophomore guards Frank McKnight and Rodney Adkins have left the men’s basketball team, head coach Randy Monroe announced today.

McKnight, a native of Springfield, Pa., appeared in 19 games for a total of 51 minutes in his freshman season, and saw action in the first two games (21 minutes) of the 2008-09 season. He did not accompany the team on its recent trip to Columbia and plans to seek a transfer to another institution.

Adkins walked onto the team last fall and appeared in eight contests. The native of Greenwich, Conn. saw action in the Retrievers’ opening game of the season and plans to continue his education at UMBC.
