2006-07 Men's Basketball Schedule Announced

  • 2006-07 UMBC Men's Basketball Schedule

    The UMBC men’s basketball team will play five games against teams that competed in last season’s NCAA Tournament as part of a 29-game regular season slate for the 2006-07 season.

     

    The Retrievers open the campaign on Saturday, Nov. 11 when they travel to Jersey City, N.J. to take on St. Peter’s. The home opener takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 14 as local rival Loyola visits the RAC Arena for a 7:30 game which will be televised live by the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). MASN will also televise UMBC’s second home game, a Tuesday, Nov. 21 date vs. first-time foe Lafayette.

     

    UMBC plays the first of five games against 05-06 NCAA Tournament teams when they visit Hampton on Saturday, Nov. 18. They will play back-to-back games at George Washington (Dec. 12) and Marquette (Dec. 16) in addition to a pair of meetings with defending America East champion Albany.

     

    The Retrievers also make their first-ever visit to Ann Arbor, Mich. to battle 2006 NIT finalist Michigan. UMBC hosts another pair of non-conference games, entertaining Long Beach State on Sunday, Dec. 3 and Central Connecticut State on Saturday, Dec. 30.

     

    UMBC opens America East play at Binghamton on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The first home game in league play is against the defending champion Albany Great Danes on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

     

    All UMBC games will be broadcast via the athletics’ website of www.umbcretrievers.com and 22 contests will be broadcast on WVIE-AM (1370).
