BILAL NAMED AMERICA EAST CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Freshman guard Rashad Bilal (White Plains, N.Y./IMG Academy) was named America East co-Rookie of the Week, along with Stony Brook’s Antawn Hardy for the week of January 3-9, 2005. Bilal scored all 10 of his points in the final 7:13 and helped key UMBC's rally from a 13-point second half deficit in Wednesday's 74-67 win over Stony Brook. He hit 4/4 free throws with less than a minute to go to help seal the win. Bilal converted a season high 3 three-point goals as part of 13-point effort in loss at Hartford and snared a season-best 5 rebounds in 20 minutes of action. He is averaging 7.6 points per game.
