12/27/2004
The UMBC men's basketball team (4-5) will finish the non-conference portion of its 2004-05 schedule when the Retrievers travel to Newark, Delaware, to take on the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens (4-6) on Wednesday. Tip off time at the Bob Carpenter Center is set for 7:30. Fans can heard the broadcast live on umbcretrievers.com "Audio Page" or tune in to ESPN 1300 for the call beginning at 8pm. After the UMBC-Delaware contest, the Retrievers return home for two straight America East games, vs. UNH on Sunday (4pm) and vs. Stony Brook at 7pm on Wednesday, January 5.
The Retrievers have won two straight entering Wednesday's game and have been off since last Tuesday's 58-53 win over Loyola. Delaware also had a tight game with the Greyhounds, prevailing, 63-60, at Reitz Arena. UMBC has not won more than four non-league games since going 7-7 in the non-league portion of their 1997-98 season.
