KEVIN BAGGETT NAMED ASSISTANT MEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

Kevin Baggett has been named Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at UMBC, Head Basketball Coach Randy Monroe announced today.

The native of Burlington, New Jersey previously coached at Cinnaminson (N.J.) High School from 1991-96, where he coached the junior varsity program and was appointed varsity coach just before receiving his opportunity to coach at the collegiate level at Coastal Carolina.
The 37-year-old Baggett hopes to continue a professional trend that has seen him involved with developing programs. Howard had winning records in each of his seasons with the program after not having had a winning season for 12 years and reached its conference tournament finals and won 18 games in his final season.
“I feel that Randy Monroe is one of the best people I know in the coaching profession and I am really looking forward to working alongside him and the rest of the staff,” said Baggett. “Having played and coached in this area before, I know what a great area it is to recruit from and I think we have a great opportunity to bring some outstanding young men to UMBC.”
