A MORE "CONFIDENT" MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAMS SET TO HOST UNH ON WEDNESDAY

2/17/2004

  • New Hampshire Game Notes

Although they have won just once in the last three outings, the Retriever men's basketball team should be playing with some new-found confidence as they prepare to host New Hampshire at the RAC Arena on Wednesday at 7pm. The game can be heard live on AM 1300 "The Jock" and via the TEAMLINE service.

After shooting below 40% from the floor in six of seven games, UMBC has hit over 50% over its last three games. The Retrievers have also outrebounded the last three foes by an average of 7.0 boards per game and have hit 75% from the charity stripe in that span. In its last home game, UMBC defeated Stony Brook, 72-53, and gave first-place Boston University (71-59 loss) and third-place Northeastern (81-78) major scares before falling twice in Beantown.
