RED-HOT VERMONT CRUISES PAST MEN'S BASKETBALL, 84-59

Burlington, VT--The league-leading Vermont Catamounts hit 57.4% from the floor and 12 of 19 shots from behind the arc, as they remained unbeaten (9-0) in the America East Conference with an 84-59 victory over UMBC (6-13, 3-7) before a sold-out crowd at Patrick Gym.
20J3 AEC Player of the Year Taylor Coppenrath and 2002 AEC Player of the Year T.J. Sorrentine each scored 15 first half points as the hosts hit 59.3% from the floor and got out to a 44-24 halftime advantage. The Catamounts hit 7 of 10 shots from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes. The Retrievers were unable to cut the lead inside of 20 points at any time in the second half and fell for the third straight game.
Junior center Andrew Feeley led UMBC with 18 points, including 12 in the second half. Cory McJimson added 11 for UMBC. Coppenrath torched UMBC for 34 points, and Sorrentine finished with 18.
