Nate Stewart enters his fifth season on the Retriever bench. He is involved with all aspects of the basketball program, including recruiting prospective student-athletes, scouting, and monitoring the academic progress of athletes in the program.
Stewart served as an assistant coach at Radford University for the 2005-06 season, his first full-time experience at the Division I level. He served as a graduate assistant coach at Marshall University from 2003-05 while earning his master’s degree in athletic administration. The native of Christianburg, Va., was a four-year letterwinner at Roanoke College where he averaged 7.1 rebounds per game as a starter in his senior season.
Stewart earned his Bachelor of Science degree in health and human performance from Roanoke in May 2003 and earned his Master’s degree from Marshall University in Athletic Administration in 2005.
The most tenured member of the Retriever staff married the former Lauren Miller in the spring of 2010 and the couple resides in Baltimore.
