Background:  Signed a NLI in the early period of the 2007-08 year… Blossomed in the summer of 2007, earning Most Improved Player honors in the Greater Philadelphia Summer School League, comprised of over 40 public and private school teams… Also named to the Eastern Invitational All-Star team and the Hoop Group All-Star squad… Scored 21 points and added 15 rebounds in a summer league game vs. Simon Gratz… Earned Second Team honors at the Hoop Magic Fall Jamboree after a 16-point, 11-rebound effort in the tournament semifinals…In his first full season as a starter last winter, he averaged 11.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game for the FLC Bobcats…Shot 62 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the free throw line and earned Honorable Mention honors from the PIAA 3A division… Helped the Wildcats to a 16-6 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the 3A district championship last season… His father, John, passed away in 2007… “That made me work harder for my goals”, according to Jake… His father and uncles all competed in baseball, basketball and football in high school… Has three sisters, Jennifer, age 26, Nicole, age 24 and Elizabeth, age 19, and a younger brother Matthew, who is eight years old… His guardians are his uncle Matthew J.
