Collegiate: Transferred to UMBC from James Madison University after the 2006 spring semester… in three seasons at JMU, he amassed 1,013 points, 22nd on the school’s all-time scoring list… one of just seven players in JMU school history to hit the 1,000-point plateau during his junior year… he converted 160 three-point field goals, currently fifth in Dukes’ basketball history… started 52 consecutive games… scored in double figures 49 times in his 84 career games and averaged 12.1 points per game.

 

2005-06: Averaged 9.8 points per game in his junior year at James Madison, starting 13 of 28 games… scored a season-high 28 points on Jan. 7, 2006, vs. Towson… hit a career-best seven three-point field goals, all in the second half… also converted six three-point field goals and a team-high 18 points at William & Mary… scored in double figures in the first five games of the season, including 19 points (8/14 fg) vs. Drexel.

 

2004-05: Averaged a career-best 14.9 points per game in his sophomore campaign… produced double figure point totals in 23 games… averaged 35.7 minutes played per game that season, the seventh-top figure in school history… scored a season-high 28 points at Drexel.

 

2003-04: Named to CAA All-Rookie Team in 2003-04, when he averaged 11.5 points per game… scored a career-high 33 points on Dec. 16, 2003 at Virginia… finished sixth in the CAA in free throw percentage at 77.5%... his 46 three-point field goals was the second-highest figure ever for a JMU freshman… debuted with a 28-point effort vs. Furman, the most points ever for a freshman in his first game... scored a career-high 33 points at Virginia, JMU’s top scoring game since 1995-96, its best by a freshman since 1988-89 and its No. 4 mark by a freshman in NCAA competition.

 

Background: Has declared a major of American Studies at UMBC… scored more than 2,200 points at William Allen HS, the most in school history… earned third team All State honors as a junior and senior… lists favorite professional sports team as the Philadelphia 76’ers and favorite sports figure as Allen Iverson… son of Pamela and Jaime Tillett… Ray Barbosa was born on Oct. 26, 1984.
