’05-’06: Played in all 28 games that he dressed for in his freshman campaign… his first collegiate field goal was a a three-pointer in the opener vs. UMES…scored five points and added six rebounds in 13 minutes vs. La Salle...scored six points in 12 minutes of action vs. Towson and tied that with 6 points at Loyola…played 21 minutes vs. Delaware and posted a career high with 11 points...dressed, but did not play vs. William & Mary after a violation of team policy (missed class)...was a very efficient  33 of 63 from the floor and made 15 of 25 (60%) shots in league competition...recorded a season best 10 rebounds in a season high 25 minutes at Stony Brook...snapped a four-game scoreless streak with a seven-point effort at Binghamton…averaged 17.5 minutes per game in the America East Tournament…tenacious around the goal as 29 of his 59 rebounds occurred on the offensive glass. 

Background: A three-year varsity starter, Young led the Colonials to a three-year record of 70-19, including a mark of 27-5…PWHS recorded wins over Simon Gratz and Central High (Public League Champions) Schools in ’04-’05, and earned a spot in the state quarter-finals…produced a brilliant senior campaign…scored his 1,000th point on December 18, 2004 and finished his career with 1,641 points, setting the school’s all-time scoring record…scored a single season record 809 points, an average of 25.3 ppg and averaged 8.7 rebounds per outing…earned Pennsylvania Associated Press Third Team All State honors…was a two-time All League First team selection, a two-time All-Area (The Times Herald) First Team selection and the 2004-05 Times Herald Player of the Year…also earned Colonial Newspapers Player of the Year honors and was an All Area Second Team selection by The Philadelphia Inquirer…also earned First Team All League honors as a junior…exploded for 41 points and 12 rebounds against an outstanding Chester (Pa.)
