Background: A three-year varsity starter, Young led the Colonials to a three-year record of 70-19, including a mark of 27-5 last season…PWHS recorded wins over Simon Gratz and Central High (Public League Champions) Schools in ’04-’05, and earned a spot in the state quarter-finals…produced a brilliant senior campaign…scored his 1,000th point on December 18, 2004 and finished his career with 1,641 points, setting the school’s all-time scoring record…scored a single season record 809 points, an average of 25.3 ppg and averaged 8.7 rebounds per outing…earned Pennsylvania Associated Press Third Team All State honors..was a two-time All League First team selection, a two-time All-Area (The Times Herald) First Team selection and the 2004-05 Times Herald Player of the Year…also earned Colonial Newspapers Player of the Year honors and was an All Area Second Team selection by The Philadelphia Inquirer…also earned First Team All League honors as a junior…exploded for 41 points and 12 rebounds against an outstanding Chester (Pa.)
