MEN'S GOLF FINISHES EIGHTH AT NEC CHAMPIONSHIPS 4/30/2002
After struggling the first day, the UMBC men's golf team improved to post the second best score today, but it was not enough as the Retrievers finished in eighth place at Scotch Valley Country Club in Hollidaysburg, PA.UMBC (323-317-640), who had won three straight NEC titles, had only one player finish in the top ten, junior Chris Davidson (77-80-157). Following Davidson was 2001 NEC individual champion Seth Unterschute, who shot 80-78-158 to finish in sole possession of 19th place. Sophomore Scott Dizel (83-78-161), junior Dan Repath (83-81-164) and freshman AJ Bachmann (84-81-165) rounded out the scoring for the Retrievers.Central Connecticut State captured the overall crown while Sacred Heart's Ryan Riley (81-69-150) won the individual title on the second playoff hole.2002 NEC Championships (Final Results - 36 holes) School Score (Par 72) 1.
