UMBC FIELD HOCKEY DROPS FOURTH STRAIGHT

Baltimore, MD—NEC preseason favorite Quinnipiac handed the Retrievers their fourth loss in as many games at UMBC’s league opener with a score of 2-0. The struggling Retrievers have yet to record their first goal of the season.Quinnipiac took an early lead after Freshman midfielder Heather Cady (Holliston/Holliston, MA) converted a penalty stroke into a goal with 12:48 remaining in the first half. Karalyn Krieger (Mepham/Bellmore, NY) made seven saves for UMBC net, as the Braves outshot the Retrievers, 15-2.
