RIDER SNAPS FIELD HOCKEY WIN STREAK

Baltimore, MD-In a battle for second place in the Northeast Conference, sophomore forward Christina Ang tallied two goals and added two assists as Rider (6-3, 4-2 NEC) snapped UMBC's (4-5, 3-3 NEC) three-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory. Ang got the Broncs on the board just 6:12 into the contest, converting an Ally Hunter feed. Rider outshot UMBC, 14-2, in the first half , and scored a pair of goals late in the stanza, as Ang set up Courtney Bertos with 4:28 remaining in the half, and combined with Maddy Boulden to assist Bertos against with just 1:05 to play in the half. The Retrievers outshot the visitors, 12-7, in the second half, but Rider extended the margin to 4-0 as Ang scored on a feed by Karen Pettyjohn with 19:16 remaining. UMBC would get on the board with 1:49 to play as sophomore attacker Kristin Ramsey scored on an assist from Jen Rowe. Retriever netminder Meghan Polek made 10 saves in defeat, while Rider's Jennifer Cushinotto had seven saves, six in the second half for the winning side.
