MIAMI (OH) BLANKS RETRIEVER FIELD HOCKEY, 1-0

The Retriever field hockey team fell to 1-2 on the season after being shut out by Miami University (OH) (1-2), 1-0, this afternoon at UMBC Stadium. After 54 minutes of scoreless play, senior Sarah Clarke (West Bridgewater/West Bridgewater, MA) found the back of the net to put the Redhawks up 1-0. The goal came during a Miami penalty corner, after Gillian Lindsay (Cleveland Heights/Cleveland Heights, OH) passed the ball to Angie Snedden (St. Christopher's Secondary/Sarnia, Ontario), who then set it up for Clarke's shot. For the game, UMBC had more penalty corners, 7-3, but was unable to convert any for a goal.
