Kristi Troster earned all-conference second team honors for the second year in a row.

Mary Strain was tied for the team lead with five points.

Boston-UMBC senior midfielder Kristi Troster was named to the America East Field Hockey All-Conference Second Team and freshman forward Mary Strain earned All-Rookie Team honors, the league announced Thursday night at the annual awards banquet.

Troster gets the second-team nod for the second consecutive year after scoring two goals and four points and also notching two defensive saves. UMBC’s fourth all-time leading scorer, Troster has recorded 14 goals and 36 points in her career.

Strain was tied for the team lead with two goals and five points and started all but one game in her first season. She also tallied one assist and notched the game-winner in UMBC’s only victory of the season.

Albany’s Michelle Simpson and Arlette Westdorp were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, while Boston University’s Suus Dekker was tabbed Rookie of the Year and Vermont’s Nicki Houghton was named Coach of the Year.
